Solve the problem of trains running off your layout

If you have a lift bridge, chances are you worry about making sure the bridge is closed so your trains don't take a plunge.
When the layout is not in use the bridge is always open. When I go into the layout to run trains I try to discipline myself to AWLAYS close the bridge. In my 10 Years with this current layout, I have forgot to close the bridge twice and was unaware of the impending doom.
Recently, I came up with this mechanical device to help in case I ever forget again.
