I have dept56 building's about 55 of them.Got interested in them about 25 years ago. I try to use them on my train layout and hopefully this coming year I can fit some more. When you run out of length then build higher. Of course my wishes always out strips practically. Dave

Most of my trains are postwar type ( O ) and either prewar or remake of prewar ( standard Gauge ) so these fit in easy, I need to dig it out I have a race set with two wind up cars

I was never good at sustaining collections; although I do have quite an array of Matchbox and other cars and trucks. At some point soon, I should organize them. I am in the process of moving and I am finding all sorts of stuff. The train-related items include some railroad patches, and I have two PRR large 'office' wall calendars. One is from 1956 and features a colorful reproduction of the Horshoe Curve. When I find it, it will go up in the trainroom. Alfred

I've been a collector all my life. The subjects come in phases. Currently - Village stuff - about 80 buildings plus some accessories. Mostly Department 56 but a smattering of other brands.

I collect 1:43 scale cars (mostly Brooklin and Menards) and buildings of various brands.

I have close to 100 cars I have no use for. Not sure if they are all 1:43 some are Menards.
Reason being, I'm doing both Standard and O gauge layout, so not sure how it will evolve towards the end. I also plan to do approximant 4' x 10' raise G scale at the far end of the layout.

I collect the most important two things in the world. Trains, mainly O Gauge and I run what I collect, along with 7Up. If I find a train with 7Up on it I buy it immediately. I also have a Post Card collection from when I was a little Pain in the butt (Mr. PIB) back in the 60's. I use to buy every new matchbook vehicle that came out when I was in HO in the late 60's into the 70's.

I don't really collect anything except trains. But I do have a large selection of first person accounts of working for the railroad and various odds and ends of things train related. One item from the odds and ends category is this Edison Battery for powering remote signals.

We are currently clearing out our house for a move. We have lived here for 30 years; and without relizing it, I have been a collector of dust. Alfred (achoo!)

We are currently clearing out our house for a move. We have lived here for 30 years; and without relizing it, I have been a collector of dust. Alfred (achoo!) My wife is quite amazed that after 58 years of marriage I still am not able to see the dust that she see's all over the house.
