My wife found this old pic from my first set-up. That's a YAESU 401B.

Beautiful! This is the current KC1RVK shack. Icom 7300 for HF and an Anytone Mobile for 2M/70cm operation. My antennas are in my attic for now and seems to be working well. I’ve also acquired a Heathkit HW-101 that I plan to restore next year. That should be an adventure! Also starting CW (Morse code) class in January. It’s not required anymore but I think it will be fun to learn it.

I was up to 72WPM, (could send faster, but as you will see, person on other end will then send replies as fast as you send. So 72WPM was my limit at receiving).

Nice to see other Amateur Radio Operators Here, Look me up on QRZ

Great page. Beautiful setup and some nice cars as well. Seems that a lot of model train hobbyists also gravitate to radio.

I need to get my antenna up. Wind tore it down and bent it. When I have a nice day I will repair it.

KB9SDS here. I'm currently running a Icom IC-9100 multi band/multi mood base, I also have a Kenwood TS-520G SSB.
I have a Kenwood TM-707G duel band in my car and and Yaesu FT-1500, FT-2900 mobile radios.
I'm currently a General class. Just on 2M/440 until I can get another HF antenna up.

I used to do ham in the military, it was a group of us who were training to use as a part of the war effort in Vietnam. I don't think it really paid off. They thought it was another effort by the Pentagon like reading minds and the like.
I always thought ham was interesting but never kept up with it.

Merry Christmas to you Alfred! I never learned to code. I started off as a tech no code. Then when they dropped it, I became a general class. I should have learned when I was younger.
