This video is from a few years ago but still relevent apparently. Yes, a few years old, but shows Lionel still has a serious problem in all aspects of its business still and hasn't learned yet.

Indeed... we can all relate to the pain. But the love/hate relationship with Lionel is getting old-and-tired for many of us who have more trains than even our great grandchildren would be able to enjoy!!!

I have many PW Lionel engines that are almost 80 years old. Occasionally change the brushes, drop of oil or two. Dab of grease. Maybe solder a wire or two. They all run like new. I have 3 Great-grands kids that I'm teaching how to run them. Theres an occasional "crash" or dead short. Too fast on the curves and fly off the table. Hit the carpet floor. NO DAMAGE! PW trains are tuff and they run forever. Ez to fix if you know how to solder and have a small screwdriver set. I'm sure they will be running them for another 80 years. Nothing runs like an PW 681 turbine, PW2343 growler, 2321 trainmaster. No china made junk for me. Rob

The Twilight zone of the train world. "Imagine if you will." If you don't know that you're too young.😋

I have Lionel made in the 19 TEENS that STILL run like the day they were made. And the colors are still bright and the
I also have early Lionel Post War from my childhood that also runs and operates like the day it was built.
They have only received routine maintenance and gotten played with hard but with respect.
They were QUALITY PRODUCTS that came CORRECT FROM THE FACTORY.
Unlike the "products" of Lionel today which even if they do arrive "correct" will not last long or always operate correctly. And they will NOT last as long as their previous products due to NO QUALITY and planned obsolescence.
Today, we live in an EXPENSIVE and DISPOSABLE society.
