We begin the Christmas Season of Founder's Favorites with one of Brian and Elizabeths greatest skills and a true favorite of theirs, lighting and in particular, Christmas Lighting. They always did a spectacular job with their lighting. Below are a couple of photos from their most recent layout. You can also check out this presentation that Brian did for the D56 Club some time back. There are many more great photos in that PDF document. Show us your Christmas lights!!

Brian’s Grand Central Terminal on the Christmas in the City side of his layout is truly spectacular! Yeah, I would agree, that is an incredible bit of scenery on a model train display. He had a knack for making D-56 stuff work together in a hyper-realistic fashion. Still a lot that can be learned from these photos.

Brian truly enjoyed lighting. Not too many of his posts were made before he mentioned buying another set of lights. The electricity used for his layout was measured in kiloWatts. Alfred

Adam, this is wonderful thread in honor of Brian and Elizabeth. He and Elizabeth would make plans each year to put more lights on their layouts. Brian knew how to light up the sky within the North Pole and CIC! CIC with lighted Bridge in the background CIC Christmas Tree Trees lighted up down the street with his previous layout The North Pole with Northern Lights in the background Radio City Music Hall in CIC

Alfred I once heard that every time Brian fired up the layout, all of the EV charging stations in Portland would dim... Accurate! But it wasn’t just the EV charging stations. All of Portland would go dark until the power company flipped the Auxiliary Power switch. Or maybe I saw that in a movie? I can’t remember.
