Yes I have seen it. Maybe some executive is a train enthusiast.

In the first scene the tender is backwards. Nice commercial otherwise.

Maybe trains are making a comeback in the mainstream.

I think the backwards tender is deliberate. The Applebee's logo is such that it if you had the tender in the correct position the logo would have to be much smaller and there would be a big blank space on the tender side. This way the logo is writ large and fills the entire "canvas."

Yes there is a train in it, but, but, BUT Applebee's is "in the neighborhood" and it's basically about the VILLAGE. See every village should have a train but it's still about the village. . . .

Tender is backwards in the entire commercial. Look at the scene where the train is moving away from you and the tender is still backwards.
Most of today's people have never seen a steam locomotive and tender. Hardly anyone today has seen a train at all as they mostly move at nights or are no longer in the foreground of our world. Nobody lives near rail lines or rail facilities.
The railroads themselves shy away from publicity of any kind. They no longer seem interested in public relations.
Occasionally there is an "Operation Lifesaver" demonstration for the "news" media (usually right after some rail calamity) but otherwise the rail industry stays clear of the media. In fact, railroads frown on people photographing of videoing them even for hobby purposes.
Railroads today aren't run by railroaders anymore, but instead, are run by MBA's, "investors", C-Suite types and real estate hucksters. This is why railroads actually discourage businesses trying to get rail service. It's all about money and that's all.
Sad state of affairs. Soon, VERY soon, we will see what happens to us because we abandoned such an efficient method of transport for both freight and people.

This way the logo is writ large and fills the entire "canvas." Yeah, I saw the commercial on-air and had the same reaction. Can the body just be reversed, or do you think this was custom work to refit the shell (or perhaps swap the trucks) to make the canvas fit the logo?
