Back about 5 years or so, they had a burnt engine house with a PRR steam engine in it. ( non operatable of coarse ) I have one if anybody wants one, Don't have room for it. anyway it would go great with this I think.

I was going to get one and just put it on a display shelf along with some photos I had of engine mishaps.

For one brief moment I thought the title of the thread meant Menards had tried to update the old Marklin calamity train. In the first decade of the 20th Century Marklin offered a train with a consist of spring loaded passenger cars each with an extended bumper. When you slammed on the brakes (brought the train to a sudden stop) the cars would slam together, the extra long bumpers would retract, release the springs and all of the cars would fly apart to simulate a train wreck - somewhat in the manner of the Lionel exploding boxcar. The cars were made of metal and the parts were jagged edged to give the impression of a real collision. Needless to say, the survival rate of these cars is quite low and, if they can be found, will command a premium price today.

Back when this was released people were adding smoke units to it to simulate a smoldering effect. Menards must have used the idea for this burned out caboose. Pretty cool!
I plan to put mine next to my roundhouse to simulate a burned out engine bay.
