Outstanding work, Brian! There is a lot to see, all of it very well done. I think you have an excellent chance of taking first place.

Nice job, Brian. I recall St. Mark's Cathedral was quite the sought-after Dept 56 piece back in the 1990's. I tried to get one back when they were first produced, but local dealers were playing games with their inventory so as to affect pricing... ironically the same games that train dealers play when they realize they have a "hot" item -- usually one that is under-produced for whatever reason. This piece was reportedly not released in the quantity originally planned. Only around 3,000 of the planned "limited edition run" of 17,500 ever hit the market. As I understand, there were production problems with the way in which the building's design used 2 or 3 separate molds to create the final cathedral structure. So a significant number were destroyed at the factory.
Sigh... I never did get one. I've seen them on eBay now -- some 30 years later -- at much more reasonable prices than the shysters wanted back in the early 90's. Although prices are still all over the map -- especially by sellers claiming to have a "new" St. Mark's Cathedral. But my Dept 56 "town" on the layout is filled out now. And I already have several other Dept 56 Christmas-in-the-City churches in town. It's still a great Dept 56 piece though.

Nice job Brain!
First, it is a little larger then I expected, which is fine, I just think I was expecting a smaller space. With that said, I think (again) your use of lights is really nice. I personally like the telephone poles on one side and the trees on the other. It almost seems to frame in the church keeping you eye in the middle.
OK... what's next since you seem to build four vignettes to my one.

Beautifully done Brian. This scene is very special. It reminds me of some place I’ve been, even though I haven’t. You really hit the mark.

That is special work, when a scene elicits someone's memory or imagination. Nice work Brian. Alfred
