Perhaps further afield, a Lionel 6802 kitted out as a tribute to John Wyer: This car subsequently reverted to its original form carrying two Lionel bridge girders, then went to a postwar collector.

atsda, if we are talking about the two level auto carriers with 4 cars then my Greenberg references say they were both introduced the same year - 1955. The earlier versions of the Lionel auto carrier had cars with more detail. The auto-loader itself was a reasonable representation of the real car. The later versions had very stripped down autos - collectors usually refer to these cars as "cheapies"
