This is a review I hate to post, but need to.
I grew up riding the New Hope & Ivyland RR. Its always been my local tourist ride. I recently purchased the Lionel Set and add on car. I even have the #40 steam engine on order. Yes, I have been a fan.
Now for the tough stuff. My daughter was all excited about the "No Hope" Halloween excursion. We rode last night. She got the 1st class tickets for the 7pm ride. ($80/head)
Everything started off well. You are led through a coach that is converted into a haunted house experience. This was fine, nothing special, but still fun. We then boarded the train. As the train left New Hope, we were offered a drink and snack service - pricey ($27 for 4 drinks and 2 soft pretzels), but totally within expectations.
The train eventually arrived at its destination. We got off, into the darkness. There was a metal band playing, a small bonfire, 2 - 3 picnic tables and one food tent selling BBQ. ($15/entree)
Across the tracks was the halloween attraction, with a long line. We ate first. Got the last serving of mac & cheese - At 7:40 on the first of three trains?!? The attraction itself was essentially a cargo container you walked through, same as before, the mase was some RR ties and hay bales. NO CORN FIELD MAZE!!!
On the good side i ran into Ted Bertiger and talked some trains.
Overall it was a total overpriced DUD. There are much better Halloween activities to enjoy. Read the Google reviews for confirmation.
