This side view is of the train that has occupied most of my hobby time in terms of detailing. This is Lionel's 6-31755 aluminum 21" MKT Texas Special set from about 15 years ago with Legacy E7 engines:
I am pretty sure that this was based on K-Line tooling from some years before. With the add-on set and StationSounds diner it has 7 cars. Only two have been done so far and I have posted at length about those, the Sam Houston diner and the Stephen F. Austin observation car. I hope to move on to another one soon . . .

Here's something a little different - a battery powered Bing locomotive from 1930. The batteries (there are 2) were/are very oversized hence the oversized tender.
