Keith, No black train here. It may not be connected with the subject of your thread, but I'll mention that I like to run consists with all of the same type of cars (box, tankers, or gondolas / hoppers - the closest to all black train - headed by a steamer of course). Alfred

I think that this might not be what you had in mind but I searched for these New York Central Lionel “Superliner” cars years ago and managed to find all 7 and indeed 2 more of the Long Island lounge cars, which look best in a darkened room:
Of course this is an early example of a fantasy scheme the likes of which has become so prevalent among new products these days, but in any case I rate these aluminum body models the best passenger cars that Lionel has ever made or likely will ever make.
