I live on Seneca Street. So I named mine: "Seneca Street Station", the home of Triple S Trains.

MESA-East Model Railroad. MESA are the initials of the first names of my immediate family (Martha, Emily, Sophia, Adam). I added the East because there is a MESA train station in Arizona.

I never named my layout but my brother named it the Hack and Jerk railroad for some issues the railroad had.

I love that so many have an attachment to their layout strong enough to name it, and even if "tongue-in-cheek" it shows you have an entity, not just track & cars. Well done to all of you. AND THANKS FOR SHARING!

We reside in a home at the top of a Hill 550ft in elevation so the layout is called The Hill Lines.

My railroad was named before it existed. In Summer of the year 2001 as our new house was being built, I christened my railroad with the name "Oxford Central Railroad", after the town in Pennsylvania we were moving to. It was to be the hub for all railroad operations in the country.
Then, as we were driving home from the October 2008 York Meet, my wife (a current Board Member) and I were discussing our York purchases and the railroad. Infrastructure purchases are usually based on equipment that I like, how they look running and how colorful they are, not so much for their specific railroad name. Through our discussion it became apparent that with all the different locomotive and rolling stock paint schemes we had acquired, "Oxford Central" just didn't sound grand enough. After all, being the evil and powerful railroad baron that I am, through my very distinguished legal team I had stolen.... ahem...I mean acquired all the operating railroads in the Western Hemisphere, from ocean to ocean and from the Arctic Circle to the southern most tip of Chile.
So as we drove (actually chauffeured by my well paid driver in my corporate limousine) and having authority to do so, I called to order instantly a meeting of the Oxford Central Board of Directors. Present were myself as omnipotent CEO and my wife. (Not in attendance were the non-vocal member cats, who did not answer the teleconference call.) During this short meeting, in which I bestowed the well deserved accolades upon myself and accepted them graciously, I determined that the railroad's new name should emit the greatness and power that it will command not only in the corporate world, but as the main thread of life for all freight customers and passengers that will benefit from Our services, and pay dearly and gratefully for.
It was then that the Penn American Railroad was born, named after the great state I lived in and the mileage it will cover. It is a name that will encompass the grandeur of railroading no matter where I situate the corporate headquarters in.
Before adjourning, I also granted myself a hefty pay raise.
But it hasn't been all roses. My wife, unsatisfied with the progress of the railroad construction, attempted a hostile takeover of the railroad to project manage the construction, basically trying to force me to be a common laborer and do all the work. She almost succeeded, with the help of some rogue model railroaders, but failed miserably when I regained control with an iron will (That, and I started doing more on the layout).
I'll be masterminding some billboards to advertise the railroad. Something like "Ship and ride on the Penn American! You have no other choice!"

As I mentioned over on the "Name of your creation" thread, My railroad is the Ophir and Oblivion. Ophir was the site of King Solomon's gold mines and these trains do cost money. Oblivion is the final terminus for my railroad because it is a Broadloom Conspiracy railroad which means the timeline for its existence is dictated by the CFO (Chief Floor Officer) and when she says she would like to have the living room carpet returned to its primary state that means it is time for the trains to disappear...at least for awhile.
