This is a topside view of a Baltimore & Ohio Automobile Box Car (Lionel 6468, 1953-55; having double-doors). Perhaps there is not much to say about the roof detail; however the significance for posting is as follows. The cornerstone of the B&O Railroad was laid on July 4, 1828, by Charles Carroll of Carrollton,the last living signer of the Declaration of Independence. (He was 91.) At the ceremony he said: "I consider this act second in importance only to my having signed the Declaration of Independence; if even it be second to that." Attachments:
