Well, its that time of the year again to make a resolution that you probably won't meet, (Brian excluded) as he and Elizabeth are over achievers... I wish I was by the way. Currently on my work bench and scheduled for work starting today (my resolution) is a set of Sunset 3rd Rail F7's. As you can see, they are in a disassembled state so all I need to do are make the repairs/corrections and put back together. My goal is by the next Midwest Division Modular session. RIP Track for the three other units. Currently on the work bench. What is on your work bench or train related goal this year? Charlie

My resolution/goal is to have my 2 main loops in and running. I figure any accomplishments beyond that are bonuses. If the layout work gets done or caught up to a point I'm happy with - my Lionel K4 is in need of some work.

Actually, lots of things to do to the layout in the New Year.
Not on the workbench yet, but the list is longer than some might think and I WILL GET TO IT.

I have 2 large building kits to assemble and paint. Probably going to start them in February...or June...or first thing in 2021.

You promised Logan, Austin, and Pepe’ the completion of the next video prior to December 1. I am going to have to ask Jennifer to have your memory checked. You may have theriatrainosis, a rare disease that has your symptoms.

What a fun topic to think about for 2020. We all enjoy our hobby and working on our layouts adds to the pleasure.
I so look forward to adding more vehicles to the City side of the layout. Got three roads done and three more to go. Then, I have to install the new Crossing Shanty that Harry Hieke made. Then there is the project on the PE side to add more tree lighting and fill in a couple of areas with new structures. I aslo want to add the new Christmas related signs from Miller Engineering. All of these projects I look forward to.

Apart from the 3rd Rail Daylight GS-4 that I have posted about on another thread, the major workbench efforts relate to two long-standing problems and one more recent:
1. A VL Challenger (2010 1st run) that has lost the sound in the boiler. The last time I tried to take this engine apart I ended up sending it to Lionel to get sorted out. That's not an option now.
2. My first UP Veranda turbine, which has developed a jackrabbit start that I think relates to the Odyssey controls. On taking it apart I found that one motor was very loose in its mount and the gears were not engaging properly. I have all the replacement parts for this engine I think I will ever need but finding the time/energy to install them is another matter.
3. A Lionel Legacy AC-9 that has no slow speed control. This one I fear I'll have to ship to Alex M.

I need to replace the running lights on my K4. I broke a wire when I was replacing a smoke unit fan. I've been kicking myself for doing that. I have the replacement parts I just need to get my butt in gear.
Also get started on expanding my layout. I haven't made up my mind on how I'm going to do it.

I make NO promises... that way I cannot fail!
Its tough to put a to do list on a hobby... less it becomes not fun. But if I have to make a list … here is what I need to get done, otherwise, I will just run more trains and get nothing done:
1) Get our OGF Car completed. Word is on the street that the first sheet of decals are off the press and are headed to Harry H. for review 2) Get my excess train items on the Bay 3) I just saved a JLC Y6b from the trash. Its fixed, and now I need to run the H&#$ out of it. 4) I have 4 downtown deco kits to build - lots of fun planned here. 5) Need to add my city, river, and mountain forest sounds modules to the layout and get them hooked up 6) Get my new Lionel 21 inch 7 car Santa Fe passenger cars out of "hock". 7) Add my engine staging siding and service area as planned 8) Wire up 11 DZ1000 switch machines for my yard and complete the control board 9) Break out my airbrush and belly up some new paints that I received... need to airbrush some track and freight car trucks 10) Get those dark buildings lit up with LED light kits I bought at York 11) Finish / revise my layout skirt 12) I literally have a pile of people on my layout that need a place and a home... instead of just sitting on the layout … in a pile. 13) Clean and paint the floors 14) Add a small fridge under the layout for much needed beverages 15) Start planning where in the heck am I going to put that round house and turntable...
And off course the date to be complete is the second week in March. It's the date I am hosting the Detroit 3 railers get together.

Nothing is on the workbench right now but about 150 people that require painting will soon be there. After I finish painting and installing them in passenger cars or on the layout I will work on something else but I don't know what right now.

John, that's quite a list. It will be nice to have item #1 completed (very soon).
