Now I am not sure if this qualifies as post war as this set is from the 1960's. It was mostly in good shape when I got it but I did a fair amount of maintenance on it. I got this General set at Amherst a few years back and it is a very nostalgic model for me. My first train was a General (which I still own but it is in rough shape). This model even came with the original box and Super O Track. That’s a super nice set, Adam. The post-war era is from 1946 to 1969 so it qualifies.

Adam, The post war era is given as 1945 to 1969, and so your General set qualifies (nice set). I generally regard the post war era as up to 1960 - but that's just me. My set has a tender with a rubber top simulating the wood fuel. Alfred

Dave, Great job with getting the 624 running. Sounds like it runs like a charm. Alfred

Dave, Great job with getting the 624 running. Sounds like it runs like a charm. Alfred Thanks Alfred - it was basically a disassembly and cleanup, but I still have a little work to do. It has solenoid couplers that had the wire broken off at each coil and also a contact shoe under the unpowered truck that's gone. All I have is the wire - the tabs at each coupler are broken off so maybe some creative soldering is needed. The old heavy Lionel on Fastrack is LOUD. Dave
