This Santa Fe diesel is the only one of its type that I have that has an intact apron. What type is it? More difficult perhaps (relegated to a guess): What’s its Lionel number? Alfred Attachments:

I have not got a clue what Alfred's engine number is although I recognize that (postwar?) Lionel front end.
My contribution is in Daylight colors, although this nice GS-5 is in the shops after a disaster that I am slowly getting to grips with and will post about separately if/when I make some further progress fixing it. This is one of Lionel's all too rare home runs in recent production, especially the smoke features shown in the video still:

The photo is of a SF Alco FA. It has Lionel number 220. It was issued in 1959 and has 3-position E-Unit and two axle Magnetraction. It can be used on O27 track. It is difficult to tell this one apart using the frontend view from the about five other SF Alco FA's that were issued with numbers in the 200's. If you were able to get the number right, then 1) you were able to read the number board, or, knew I had one from a previous post, or 3) used image recognition analysis software, or 4) are extremely knowlegeable, or 5) have super powers. I wasn't online all weekend so I'm very late with this so I guess it's a frontend Monday entry, a Lionel FEC LC+ GP38 exiting a tunnel at night.

Country Joe, It is never too late to post train pix. In fact, to make it flexible, the threads have a 'begin' date. Alfred (Trains emerging from tunnels are worth noting.)
