Smart move on your part 👍👍 All the best from all of us! Same here. I have not myself had such an incident and I avoid doctors like the plague, but I see it makes sense to be safe and avoid an emergency.

Okay thanks for all the concern and well wishes. I still will have to go back for a heart cath so they can look inside it. Then we will discuss future options, I was told that my replaced valve has swollen, which they say is normal, but they said they don't think they need to do anything now but maybe in the future.

All the best with upcoming tests, and that the situation can be managed without significant interventions. Alfred

I just thought of something, the V.A. has a thing called community care, I might be able to have the heart cath done here in Spartanburg and be able to go home and rest at home instead of the hospital there in Asheville 72 miles away.

Cardiologist called today and said she doesn't think I really need the heart cath.

So did you have a heart cath done or not? My family Dr wanted me to have one. Scheduled with Heart Dr who said I did NOT need one. I replied my family Dr was insistent that I get one. Scheduled and went to get done. Surgeon said same "You do NOT need one." Same answer to him and we went ahead and did it. While in surgery Surgeon wheels alongside me and ask a billion questions. I ask what is going on. His answer - You should be dead! Now am proud owner of Stents. Two on the widow maker!

No did not get one, I have had two in the past, I have had open heart surgery in the past to replace my bicuspid valve because it was small. I had Staphylococcus on my heart. That was my second widow maker I delt with, 1st I went into lower defibrillation during a stress test, later my regular DR. told me I beaten the widow make, not many make through what you just did. They did a chemical stress test and I made it through that and my echo gram came out fine also. Last Friday they did not have all the results back from stress test was why they were thinking I might need a heart cath.
