I have used Emiles thread title without the video, sorry. My new to me engine is a Lionel legacy SD70M-2 EMD Demo unit. I believe this was from the 2017 catalog With prices going beyond what I can afford I found this on the website of TrainZ during his 10% sale New Years sale. With the Discount it was a excellent price. There were a few cosmetic issues which I thought I could fix. 5 steps were missing Handrail was loose in one place Cab shade was loose Snow plow was broken Great pictures by trainZs showed all the iisues. Having the parts in my parts box from prior repairs I decided to take a chance. When I received the engine I was very satisfied, it ran and sounded great, no mechanical isuues. I repaired all the issues, the steps, not easy with my hands since my stroke but I got it done. Fixing the small issue with the handrail and the snowplow ( I had a new Lionel plow) was easy except I noticed one big thumb print on the sunshade that the previous Owner tried to fix. Sanded the area but how am I going to match the paint, I went to Michaels and believe it or not I found a bottle of acrylic paint that matched it exactly. Well here It is now, With a little work and luck I got a engine I could afford. Dave Ps beings the plow had to be painted also so the paint was a god send.

Most of my engines have been previously owned. I have repaired some and one I sent out to get converted from proto2 ( I think ) to TMCC. I normally would of done it, but I don't like messing with steam engines. They are the best deals these days with what prices are.

Mike Reagan, ( use to be with Lionel) Now with TWTrainworx, that builds layouts. That also was about 2-3 years ago.
