I was surprised and pleased to find the print version of Lionel's 2023 Vol. 1 catalog in my mailbox today. Excellent planning by Lionel, as well as a miracle by our local post office, which often lets our mail "rest" in their station for days or weeks before delivering it.
So if you normally receive the Lionel catalog from one of the clubs, hopefully (depending on your post office) you'll see it any time now.

Good timing on Lionel's part. The Lionel marketeers know their target audience all too well... especially the seasoned crowd who still prefers holding a hard-copy catalog in hand vs. paging through a digital catalog on a computer display. Nothing beats several page-by-page walk-throughs of the hard-copy catalog to plant subconscious seeds in our brain that shrewdly convince us why a bunch of completely unnecessary purchases slowly become must-have pre-orders by mid-February.

You nailed it! Also, I love that word, "seasoned." I'm not old, I'm seasoned.

I don't know why I get two copies. But they both arrived Saturday 1/14 and were unceremoniously tossed into the recycling bin.

It is certainly easier to thumb through a paper catalog than to try and do it online. That Lionel did right. As for the product line itself, it looks great but thats more than I care to spend on toys.

Since I'm not ever going to buy anything new from them it would be bathroom reading.

I get my copy through LOTS. Although I don't buy new / modern equipment, it's interesting to go through it. Since I am blind, I ask my wife to read / describe the contents, just for fun. I am wondering if my wife is secretly thinking how glad she is that I am not at this level of spending. Alfred
