Spice7, Great idea to have a coal truck - you don't here about them often. In the 50's, my uncles had a bakery in Brooklyn. There were brick ovens in the basement. I recall that the coal truck would pull onto the large sidewalk area and park next to the building. They would pass a chute into an opening and release the coal by opening sliding doors in the side of the truck. I would watch and listen to the rattling sound of the coal as it traveled down the chute. Then I would go down into the basement and find the coal in a heap on the floor. The best thing was to see the fire in the oven when the lower door was open and coal had to be shoveled in. The next thing to what it must have been like to stoke a steam engine. Where are you going to use your coal truck? Alfred

Here is my replica of the Mercer Coal towers. Mercer was in Stratford, CT along the New Haven RR.

Wish I could build models like that. What else did you build?

Nice looking truck. We used to have coal delivered to our house when I was a kid. You could get 1/4,1/2 or a full ton of coal delivered for $20.00. Man it made a alot of noise when being delivered.
