I created a thread and inserted a URL from Youtube and clicked the insert. The video showed up in the thread but when I created the thread the video was not there.  ?? |

There are two reasons why a YouTube video will not embed here or elsewhere.
1. YouTube offers an option to the owner of the video to forbid embedding of the video within other websites. If that option is selected for a speciifc video, the only why you can watch it is by going to YouTube.
2. YouTube shorts dont support embedded as far as I understand.

Here is how I put a YouTube video on this forum.
There may be an easier method.
When watching the YouTube video scroll down and hit the share button below the video
a box pops up with a URL to share , click on the blue (copy) button to the right. it saves it to your clipboard
come back here and select the button above that when you hover your mouse over says insert video ,
( seventh one from Right ) a box pops up to paste the url in, right click mouse choose paste,
I used that method to attach the Strausburg RR above.
You can either watch it hereby hitting the red play in center , or hit the watch on you tube
banner in lower left and it will take you to the YouTube site .
