Jim, in what thread or threads were your photos/posts removed? I looked in your structures thread and everything looks good. I can’t imagine that any of the moderators deleted your photos/posts unless it was done by accident.
Once your post is up it shouldn’t disappear on its own. The only thing I can think of is that you forgot to click the “Create Post” button at the bottom of the page and thus didn’t complete the process.

Are you uploading photos to the forum or are you linking to a photo that is posted elsewhere site as Google cloud?

That's interesting. So that would indicate that maybe the URL/link to some of those photos could be changing.

Next time you see this happen point us to the specific post. Very strange. Like Joe said, none of the admins have a reason to delete links or otherwise unless they break our rules.

I am linking them from several of my hosting sites, ... that way they do not take up space on the OGF server...
I have seen on other forums where linked photos often disappear.
If a forum offers a way to upload a photo, you might want to take advantage of that feature. That way your photos won't get lost.

No problem posting your own layout photos and pointing to links should be OK. I can only see a problem if you capture and post photos that you do not own that are in a private collection of an individual or company. In that case you need permission to post them. If they show up on a forum they will be deleted and they can get reprimanded. Copyrights run the show.

Jim I use shutterfly.com and have not had a problem. I don't know what you use, but have heard people in other forums say they had problems with photobucket.com, not sure exactly what but do know they went to a service you had to pay to use and lost a lot of accounts.

I upload directly to the forum from whatever file I'm getting the photo from. Same with videos.

I had a Photobucket account years ago that I used to post photos on forums. It worked well until Photobucket decided to charge an annual fee to those who posted links on forums and the like. The fee was over $300! I and many others refused to pay the ransom and the links to our photos were broken by Photobucket leaving blanks where photos had been. I deleted all the photos and canceled my account.

As I mentioned earlier, OGF offers photo uploading, not sure why people are reluctant to use it.

As I mentioned earlier, OGF offers photo uploading, not sure why people are reluctant to use it. Mmm, perhaps because it's not obvious that uploading is an option? When I recently joined, I found that the "Insert Image" button apparently only offered the option to link to an off-site photo. I see there's an "Add Attachment" button, but I assumed a photo would appear as a, well, *attachment* rather than an embedded photo. Can you tell me what I missed? Thanks . . .

Never mind -- I found the answer in a different thread: yes, you can upload a photo using the "Add Attachment" button, the only downside being the photo will appear only in thumbnail size, and require a click to view full sized. The only way to get a full size photo inserted in the text is apparently to insert a link to an off-site photo . . . unless there's more I have yet to discover! *sigh*
