Concept Cars from the 50s & 60s
In my collection I have a sub-series of concept vehicles. Some of these are incredibly designed cars, most of which never went to production, although many features and design cues show up on production vehicles all the time.
Here's 3 models I recently added to my collection in this series... The 1st was conceived in the early 60s as a means to resurrect the Duesenberg marque. The brainchild of Fred "Fritz" Duesenberg, the son of the original founder Augie Duesenberg. With design help from Virgil Exner and with the body built by the Italian Coachwork, Ghia. The car was born. Unfortunately, when the financial backing ended, so did the project. Only one car was built, and it still exists today. The model was issued by Matrix Models several years ago and for me, was very hard to find.

The next two are also from Matrix Models, they were just issued. A must-have for me, so I pre-ordered them as soon as they were announced.
The project for these two coupes was begun at GM in 1957. With the help and guidance of GM executives & stylists which included Harley Earl and with the aid of another Italian Coachwork company, Pininfarina, the two concept coupes were built. They closely followed the style and design of the production '59 Buick, but with a far more dramatic flair.
Both of the cars seemed to have disappeared in the mid-60s, they are presumed to have been destroyed, but who knows, they may turn up someday.

All 3 are fabulous models of great cars but I love the Deusenburg. I’m sorry that car never went into production.
