Double dog dare you to send it to me..... JD how will this work? Once the car is finished. I would like Brian to have the car first for a photo shoot. We should do a couple of pictures on the layout, maybe a video? And then possibly a picture of the car with the layout owner and spouse. Brian will select and announce on the forum where the car will travel next I would expect a one week cadence so the car does not sit. State who the car is going too on the forum after your photo shoot and forum post, so it does not disappear Please ship with enough packing and ship with insurance to the next forum member. Please do not send the car to non forum members If you have the car for that week and want to run and photograph it at a train club event, by all means do that. Just do not lose sight of it.
Please be courteous, and pack well to the next forum member and take note of tracking numbers when shipping the car.
Harry is going to order one decal sheet initially, which I will purchase for the car. Harry thinks 5 total graphics sets will be on one sheet of decals. Not sure yet. So four more cars could be made? The first prototype car is an Atlas donor. MTH cars will probably be used in the future, not sure yet.
Harry will sign the bottom of the car... cause it would be cool … and I ask only the Forum founding Fathers to sign as well.
This is going to be fun guys!

Well done John!! Take a bow man. Looking forward to the photos and videos. If we ever institute an OGF Hall of Fame it could displayed along side a piece of luggage with stickers denoting all the places it has travelled to. May need a steamer trunk for all the stickers though.
Gary.

The OGF is blessed with some of the most creative folks in our O-Gauge hobby. JDaddy John is proof positive.
Many thanks John for getting this project off the ground.

Sounds like a plan. I would suggest who ever has it, send to the closest address to keep shipping down. That way it's not bouncing all over the country needlessly.

Brian or who ever starts this. should request addresses, plug those addresses into google maps so we know the closest address and that everyone gets it who signs up.

Sounds great Gary, when the holder of the car is done and ready to ship out. the holder can send a note up on the forum to ask who is closer to his address. This should help out on logistical cost.

For those members and guests who would like multiple cars, each car will have a unique number, NO DUPLICATES.
These cars will be some of the most colorful rolling stock you have ever seen (with authentic markings).

Great work John and Brian. I recall the traveling boxcar in years past. It'll be fun to see how many miles the car travels... both on and off the tracks.

No, Wood, some of our member's do not prefer rolling stock with the same RR identification number, or engine number in some cases. So, if a member orders ten of our OGF cars, each car ID number will be different (like in the real world). This was a HH suggestion.

Now that I know that, my next question is how do we order them?

Wood, That will be in next steps. Right now Harry is getting the Decal sheets. One sheet will have I believe room for 5 sets of decals. Not sure if there will be different car no's on one sheet. Each decal sheet is not cheap, so we have to buy off on the art work on the first set. As far as car numbers: I wanted the Prototype car to have our inaugural date on it as OGFX 091219. I know I may order another car with this same car number because of the significance, but as more decal sheets are ordered, the car numbers can be changed.
Also note that the car shown is an Atlas Car. The production car could possibly be an MTH car based on Harry's investigation on car cost or to the customer ordering the car. So again the graphics on the decal sheet may (or may not) have to change based on the car dimensions.
What's nice is Harry is going at such a fast pace, as soon as the first set of decals gets the thumbs up, you could probably call him direct and order any variant you like!
