I just read a health update from dotty his partner on another forum and thought for some here old and new to the hobby that may not have read the latest update on his cancer/health fight that marty has decided to stop fighting and go into hospice care and then the shoe dropped as dotty his ever faithful partner also used the word I dread the most palliative care.
I have never met marty but have read many of his posts be it one of his sharing of his layout photos or being a helpful forum person helping another with an issue and a fix or guide them in updating software for the various command systems. he was always gracious to lend a hand to any that asked. he truly is a well respected ambassador for the train community and friends to many at the annual York TCA meet.
it matters not to me what forum he is on I just consider marty a all around great guy and wish him and dotty prayers to help them through this rough time.

Thank you Twincities. I have been wondering about Marty and Dotty. It is not great news. I have worked with and met Marty and Dottie. I could not agree more about their Ambassadorship of the O Gauge Hobby. Marty and Dotty have been a part of this community for many, many years and have served faithfully to all who encounter this wonderful hobby. May God bless his destiny. Thank you for sharing.

If it wasn't for Marty and Barry DCS would of failed long ago. The hobby owes the both of them a great amount of gratitude for their work and effort. Marty you will be in my prayers.

Marty was a true GEM in the Hobby, going to miss seeing him in his sweat pants and gold bling with a big old smile at York. A true ambassador of the Hobby. Thoughts and prayers.

Marty helped several times through messaging and solved problems saving me an engine and a costly return. He was very gracious. Prayers thoughts out to Marty and Dottie.

Marty is one of the best. Dotti is an amazing person. I keep them in my thoughts daily and hope for the best, whatever that may be for them. I agree that our hobby owes Marty a pile of debt for all he has done for the community. I am hoping that the remainder of the time is as peaceful as possible.

I never met Marty but he is outstanding person to this hobby with my interactions with him. He has fought a very difficult fight with his health. I pray for him to have peace and comfort as he finishes out his journey in this life. I pray for Dottie too in this difficult time.

It is very sad although it is some consolation that he’s had a good life and made many friends. I only met him once (at York) but followed what he had to say on trains over many years. A true stand up guy.
