I would like to thank all of you who were nice enough to submit your suggestions for railroads that operated in the 20-30-40's. Your suggestions were essential and have helped us with this fabulous new project. Since I made this request, a lot of progress has been made.
A project of this magnitude takes a lot of advance planning. Work first started over two months ago with a leading manufacture. Our experience with them has been terrific with other projects, so no surprise, this phase went very smoothly. We next brought in vendor prospects to potentially work with us on this project. Any project like this can come with a few bumps and this one is no exception. Our Project was unnecessarily delayed by three weeks by what appears to have been cancel culture and/or group think. No worries for us other than a needless delay (we now build into our projects unexpected delays). We quickly adjusted. I remember when I first started in business on my own, I had to scratch and claw for lucrative projects. Times sure have changed.
Typically in business, when one door closes, another one soon opens. All you have to do is to look. And this proved to be so true for us. We do our best to always have a back-up plan and boy, did this really pay off for us. We quickly engaged a highly accomplished mature vendor to work on one of the important aspects of our Project. Additionally, we have now brought in two of the top O-Gauge manufacturers. This item will have a factory paint job and no decorating on our part will be required.
,
There is a lot of work to be done to put all of the pieces together. Nothing like this project has ever been done in our hobby to this level of refinement for our offering. This is what makes it so exciting to work on. For the purist, the item will be 100% prototypical. Lots of research has been done to achieve this goal.
In terms of appeal for our new offering, it should have universal appeal among the entire O-Gauge community. Additionally, there is a strong interest within our other organizations. Call it a triple play. We will fill you in with the details as soon as we can.
I received an e-mail yesterday from a new member who read all of the recent hub-bub posted on-line about us. He asked what has made us so successful in the few short years we have been around. I wrote back to him and said for starters we take on projects like this when nobody else would do it. No red tape here, no paid employees, no profit incentive, and all of our projects are offered at cost. I think we are unique in all of the O-Gauge world to do this. Most if not all add some profit for their projects. Our members are our only priority.
I will keep you posted as we progress.
