Well today I ran the Lionel SF Acela around our museum layout twice. This now makes the 3rd time the drawbar coupling on one of the passenger cars has come apart. And for each of the 3 times, they are all 3 separate passenger cars. It's where the tiny tiny screw holds the drawbar to spring. They come apart so easy. So we superglue the part where the screws in the drawbar. They will still swivel back and forth. We are just so disappointed the fact of how easy these drawbars between the cars & engines come apart. And I haven't been running the Acela at high speed either. I honestly have to say, if Lionel ever reissues the Acela's again, they just should put in regular close couplers instead of these drawbars. Anyway, I just wanted to share about this issue that's happened 3 times so far with the Lionel SF Acela we have on our museum layout.

You would think for the price that a simple fix like loctite would solve this. They have to know this is happening. Very disappointing that they seem to lack any quality control.

Someday we’ll learn and quit buying their cheap junk they sell in an orange box with Mr. Cowen’s name on it.
Someday.
