I thought our magazine was really growing and becoming better and better with every issue. Will it ever come back? Don

Yes, we did have a beautiful magazine. The print copies were out of this world. Darn COVID got in the way of the last production and things literally went off the rails. When Bill and his wonderful wife left the forum, there was no one to corral and poke us members along in getting our articles turned in to edit, format and then publish our magazine. Putting a quality magazine like that together is a, in my opinion, massive undertaking that consumes numerous man hours that I myself would rather use doing other things. I applaud and greatly appreciated Bill and Paula for their hard work. There was another very important individual who was also very instrumental in getting our publication out for which my little pea brain cannot remember. My hat is off to you also. It was great while it lasted. Time moves on and so did this forum.

There is a much bigger story and Covid has little to do with the demise of our former Magazine. It was terrific while it lasted, but way to ambitious for the size of our organization. It was unsustainable and those directly involved who produced it were painfully aware of this fact when articles became very difficult to procure. We had worked out a solution to replace it with a combined Magazine for our other interests, but that changed when Brooklin Models recently consolidated their business model.
It would be good to review a little history. It was Emile Henault who came up with the idea for an OGF publication. He visualized a NEWSLETTER, home grown, something that was simple and we could manage for the long haul. The former Editors were asked to do a newsletter, PERIOD. They took this idea and made it into a professional quality magazine. None of our top management were aware of this very significant change until the first issue was released. We, like all of you were both surprised and delighted with just how good it was, but at the same time we were acutely aware of an uncertain future for it based upon the limited resources available. Our concerns proved to be correct.
Interesting that this subject should come up today. Last week discussions were begun to go back to the original idea of a newsletter. We did not act sooner as there has been a lot on our plate since TE went away. Stay tuned, we most assuredly will address this subject. All of the many projects that have gone on for the past several months are now one by one being successfully completed and definitely lightning our load.
Any of our members who would like to help out on a Newsletter, please e-mail Emile or me. Your input will do much to support the idea of a newsletter or not. It will take members to come forward and volunteer to make this happen.

Here is the last issue. I was lucky enough to do the cover and a article. Wish we still had it. You can all help out with the newsletter. Anything you want, pictures, stories or both. Don

I can honestly say I was very impressed with the magazine and not only read it online but also purchased every issue. Wonderful Magazine but to put something like that out requires a lot of work. More than you can imagine. I look forward to a newsletter and hopefully can also contribute to it.

How many issues were published?
Is there a source for back issues?

How many issues were published? Is there a source for back issues? There were 3 published. They are available to read online or download. At the top of the screen under the OGF banner there are a number of tabs. The first is Home and the last is Magazine. Click on Magazine and you can access the issues.

Don That's a wonderful cover photo too - great subject The magazine was a great effort, and I can appreciate the sheer amount of work to produce it. I like the newsletter idea to see what develops - who knows, the magazine could make a comeback as the forum grows. Dave

"who knows, the magazine could make a comeback as the forum grows."
At an estimated production post of between $ 8,000 to $ 10,000 for four issues per year, not likely to happen.

As Joe and Brian posted, click on "Magazine" at the top, select which edition you want and it will be downloaded to your device as a .pdf file. Look in your downloads folder for the file.
