I had to take a guess with CNW. I'm doing that as well, mainly by process of elimination. The GP series is not one that I model although some fine examples have been made - including by 3rd Rail, I think. As these were relatively early EMD products made in both Illinois💰and Ontario 🇨🇦, I'm guessing that the first actual sale was in the Midwest USA rather than by any of the other RRs listed.

I don’t know the answer but I would guess either the New York Central or the Pennsylvania RR. Since I’m a NYC fan I went with my favorite RR.

This one I did know without looking it up. The engine is still around and sitting at the Illinois Railway Museum. I don't think it is operational, but I could be wrong on that.

Charlie is right, The first Geep built was purchased by CNW, numbered 1518 and is @ the Illinois Railroad Museum.
