This weeks star is cnw1995-Doug. Doug enjoyed his fathers Lionel trains growing up. Doug started with N scale before becoming a long time O Gauger. He has a 29 X 14 (is a fan of 027 track) layout based on a British TV show -Ivor the Engine (similar to Thomas). Doug switches themes on his layout on occasion to keep things interesting as well as keeping things simple. He likes to read British Railway Modeling Magazine, likes clockwork trains and his favorite train is a postwar Hornby tinplate set. Doug used to commute to work on the Chicago and Northwestern (now UP) that was 46.4 miles each way. He is friends with Sir James and rumor has it they drink Irish Whiskey when they get together - just a rumor.....Dougs fury companions names are Torben and Tasha... Thanks Doug for being a part of the OGF, you help make the OGF a great place to talk trains!!!! In honor of CNW1995....(yes I took this picture)

John Powers, Jamison, Pogues, Cork, Proper 12? Heard from some old timers in a pub in Ireland John Powers was the right answer, but they all taste good to me. Jamison a little too sweet, but it'll do. All of this is to say congrats and slainte cnw1995 (Doug). You had me at the trains, but Irish whiskey...even better.

Congratulations Doug. Yes tiss true we are friends thanks to the internet. Many a night I rode home with him on Facebook. Often enough that I learned the stops along the way as Doug called them off. So Doug, again, I say congratulations.

Wow, I feel so honored. Thank you all for your kind words and for your fellowship in this great hobby of ours! Some trivia: I have been riding the train the equivalent to the Moon and back in my 35 plus years of commuting - something like 725,000 miles. I used to use Yahoo Messenger on my old Blackberry to have Sir J ride along with me. Our dog Torben is named for a tour guide we had in Berlin (his name means 'Thor's Bear). I think I have the only layout based on the old BBC television show, 'Ivor the Engine' in the western hemisphere. Ivor was kitbashed with cardstock and plastic from Lionel's Percy (who is also an 0-4-0). Thank you all very much!
