Cool. I remember the interchange at Summit, NJ, with the DL&W. The tracks were still in when I took promotion in 1988 and the bridge over Broad St was still in until a few years ago.
The track was quickly abandoned as the area residents in Summit and along the Morris and Essex Line were afraid the NYS&W would take the trackage and run garbage trains through to PA...

I lived on the Union - Maplewood border. The line wasn't being used in my neighborhood in my days......

Interesting, I use to go to to Fanwood quite a bit in the seventies and eighties. I remember my relatives lived by train tracks, wonder if they were used by the Rahway Valley Railroad.

Cool map. It was a pretty extensive short line. I saw the wye on google maps but wasn’t sure where it was in relation to the Lehigh connection...
