Today, most folks recognize as the "official" start to the Christmas Season. Yes, it is Black Friday, but without Christmas, there would be no Black Friday.
So, it is a very special weekend and especially with all of the OGF events of this past week. There was an easy choice for this week's OGF Star of the Weekend, Rocky Mountaineer David who stayed up until 3:00 AM to be part of this monumental event when we reached 10,000 posts. David was the lucky winner to hit the send button at the exact correct moment.
Please post your favorite train photos here, no matter what road name.

Here are the MTH Rocky Mountaineer engines. The photo was taken on Bill Webb's new layout.

There are many wonderful images for the Rocky Mountaineer. It will be fun to share some of them with you this weekend.

Brian, if you haven't taken The Canadian from Toronto to Vancouver or vice versa you may want to think about it. I know people who have done it and they were very impressed with it. I know that the Rocky Mountaineer is ranked very high as far as train trips go. First class all the way. Below are pics of The Canadian. Below are the Diesel Engines that pulled The Canadian when I rode on it. The train they pull now is The Royal Canadian. The coaches are from King George's trip across Canada in the days of steam. Extremely expensive to ride on. You are basically renting the entire train!! Gary.

Gary, business took me to all of the provinces in Canada, so mcuh of the cities in this trip I have probably seen. But the trian going through the mountains, that's the only way to enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Have to get an OGF group together and take this trip.

It depends on season (I can't imagine that the trip in the dead of winter is a great idea) but even then the cost is substantial. I think I'll stay home.
