One thing you probably notice is more & more combined trains together. CSX has done this including NS so it combines 2 trains into 1 so it's less congestion on the mainline and in yards. Not every train running does this, but it can be seen a lot more often then years past.
Here is video I recorded last week Tuesday March 8th, 2022 in Madison Ohio of CSX westbound combined intermodal freight train I165 with 48 wells of containers & 19 freight cars, lead by CP Canadian Pacific AC4400CWM #8056 with a Nathan 3 chime K3L train horn doppler effect & CP AC4400CW #9806 trailing 2nd.

It makes sense for railroads to combine trains whenever they can.
