Late to the party, but my understanding is if I take my photos in landscape, they will upload and be oriented properly, BUT, if I take my photos in portrait, they will upload sideways? And, the new Apple software updates prevent correcting this? Thanx.

As Emile pointed out a while back, open the photo in any photo manager and correct it. Then save it as a .jpg and you're good to go.

The problem occurs when you try to upload an image from an iPhone. I experience it as well.
For some reason, the review image in the post will be rotated. When you click on it, the full size shows up fine. I think this is a function of how the forum SW interprets the photo. When you click the image, the browser will interpret it correctly. Easiest solution is to upload the image from a computer, not an iphone/ipad.
Anyway, the fix that I employ is a bit clunky but it works. Do this before uploading.
1. Edit the photo on your device. 2. Hit the crop icon. This also lets you rotate the image. Rotate it 90 degrees once and save. 3. Edit the photo again on your device. 4. Hit the crop icon and rotate the image 90 degrees 3 more times. The photo should look normally oriented again.
Yes, we just rotated the image 360 degrees, a full circle, but somehow this corrects whatever meta-data in the photo that the forum reads to determine orientation. You can't do this all at once because the iphone perceives no changes were made and wont save anything. Hence the need to do this in 2 steps. Also, this is an opportunity to crop the image a bit which I usually end up doing.
Anyway, after this it will upload to the forum perfectly.

I use my wife's tablet. Every vertical shot I've tried to post first looks OK until I hit "reply". Now I only take horizonal for this forum.
