I had the pleasure of meeting Andre Garcia today. Andre owns River Leaf Models and like many in the Model Train Vendor world he also has a full time job as an Electrical/Mechanical engineer working in the 3D printing trade.
What brought Andre to the Southern New England TCA meet was an opportunity to meet one of his customers. He was at a business meeting in Springfield, MA. Springfield, MA is over 100 miles from East Greenwich, RI where the meet was held. That makes a customer very happy to have the owner of a company travel that far to visit him.
Not only did he visit, but we spent 2 hours talking about the modeling of buildings for O gauge trains, O gauge forums and O gauge customers. It was very interesting and enlightening. Andre has a real dedication to O Gauge. He has his equipment located in his home and will craft any product a customer needs. His kits are meticulously made and cut with absolute precision.
He asked me how he could improve his products and I told him that I like to put details and lights into the buildings. He saw that in the pics of building I posted on the website and said in the future he could cut pieces to use as floors and would look into light kits. The other aspect of the buildings is my suggestion that he might want to complete some of the kits and sell them as finished products. Many of the model train people are reluctant to build their own buildings. We just might see that coming down the road.
Andre has this system for producing "Ghost" like banners and said he would write a tutorial and post it here.
Andre has made a strong commitment to OGF. Without the details, like us he has had some bad experiences with the moderators of forums.
There is a happy surprise coming, which I pledged not to divulge. Just keep watching this board.

I met Andre in York in 2016. He is one of the good guys in the hobby and makes a terrific product. It's wonderful to have him as a sponsor but even better that he is a member of OGF.

Yes, Andre is the best in his unique O scale kits. Having also the pleasure of meeting Andre in person has been my highlight since starting in O scale. I must have over 1/2 dozen of his buildings and accessories. His structures will fit in any era on a layout and can be easily customized with interior, etc. I hope to see new additions by Andre soon and maybe we can all contribute with suggestions.
