This year I plan on setting up a loop around the tree with some Pre War tinplate running around the tree. So in order to give me some much needed motivation … or just a simple swift kick in the butt... Lets see your Tinplate around the tree!!!

I call that the "ear on the carpet" view...my favorite.

I call that the "ear on the carpet" view...my favorite. Joe, I agree. Viewing the trains from an O scale persons perspective is the best. We usually view our layouts from above like we are in an airplane but getting down to "eye level" makes even our non scale toy trains look very realistic. I have my layout height set so that I view the trains from "see level" when I am operating them sitting in my chair.

Lionel 33 rolls around under the tree: First Standard Gauge set I acquired (some thirty years ago). Partially restored by the previous owner, I finished it. Runs like a clock.

From 2017, the MTH 9E gets to stretch its legs: Headlights had both burned out.

Posted elsewhere, but likely belongs here as well; 2023 Christmas: Combination of prewar tinplate items on a 42-inch circle of "O-27" profile three-rail track, along with a few ceramic buildings.
