About a month ago, we decided to work on tools and accessories for the interiors of the engine service area which will contain the roundhouse, diesel maintenance building, and two Roanoke Shops structures. Three of the four will handle engines. Over the years we have been buying items and, with the turntable installed and roundhouse well underway, it was a good time to get some interior items ready. For about two weeks painting items such as cabinets, desk tops, small tools and equipment, etc was the rage. It was exciting twice... when we started and when we finished. Half way thru we made the decision that we needed some larger tools and soon a package from Crow River Products. It contained six kits and included in the instructions was the admonition, “We assume that you have the tools and accessories necessary to build craft type kits.” Translated as, parts of these will be less than easy to complete. All of my pictures are in both the camera and I-pad correctly. If this program messes them up, let’s pretend that it is Apple’s fault that I have not a clue how to fix them. We began with the Milling Machine. Most of the kits were cast pewter with other items included as needed. We have done business with Crow River for years and find their products to be nicely done. Instructions were find but we have built a lot of kits. I wouldn’t recommend them to a beginner. Kits averaged 25-30 pieces and some are tiny. Milling machine - as you can see, tiny means tiny Typical Crow River packaging Completed except for final weathering Steam Hammer - N and W built their steam engines and did most of their repairs. It required tools a lot larger than these quite often. Forge Crane - every shop needs one Drill Press - a fun kit to assemble Dynamo Electric Motor

Those are really great looking kits Bill and Paula. Very nicely detailed!! "It was exciting twice... when we started and when we finished." LOL! I see you use a "third eye", me too! We will definitely use CROW RIVER Kits. Impressive.
Gary.

I don't know which of those models I like the most - maybe the dynamo. Great building and finishing skills on your parts.
I'm also lost in admiration for whoever made the moulds for these products.
P.S.I know about Crow River products and have a few but not kits like yours. I can see one or two of them being freight in some of my cars!

Bill, those models are fantastic. Hope you used a magnifying glass when putting them together. I know I would have gone cross-eyed.

Been absent and coping the mail as of late - getting a house situated for my girlfriend is exhausting.....
Got up to the train attic last Saturday and secured my "Star Pattern" wiring underneath the layout. I have U shaped staples that worked very well.
Also made more room under the layout, I'll be getting more organized, especially with Jenni moving her stuff into her new home.
Time to work upstairs in the train attic is growing shorter, the area is NOT air conditioned and I missed an opportunity to get a portable unit for $179.
I do have $200 in HD gift cards and deciding on whether to use ceiling tiles in the rafters between the trusses or pink foam...the ceiling tiles are white an look better, If I go with the pink foam, I'll have to do something with the coloring.....a project for Sunday, possibly.
