Got a nice Lionel scale WP PS1 sound car. But why does Lionel use the cheapest trucks on the scale car? It seems the so called diecast trucks are no such thing. Its a mixture of diecast metal and plastic. Along with the tab to work the couplers and the cost of the car deserves a much better quality truck.
If Lionel is going to do this on all their scale cars maybe its time for buyers to tell them to go pound sand and to give some of the business to MTH and AtlasO.
Good idea by Lionel, rise the prices and cheapen the product!!!!

Dave, I couldn’t agree more. And that’s one of the reasons why I returned Lionel’s latest milk cars last year — all of them…. not to mention canceling a pre-order for a club’s special-run. The trucks and couplers were junk… period.
What’s most frustrating is Lionel’s diecast sprung trucks were the best of the best for years if not decades. So why screw up a good thing? Probably because the people making such decisions are clueless, and they’d just as soon cut corners everywhere they can… just as if they were producing cheap widgets. I don’t think there’s anything else to say… which is why it’s so important to SEE these items before buying them nowadays. Of course, BTO pushes against this. But at least the larger Lionel dealers tend to order extra’s.

This is unbelievable. There is no excuse for this whatsoever. Some of the decisions coming our of Lionel since Mike Reagan left make no sense at all.
Cheap trucks equal a cheap product. Lionel you can and should do better for your customers.
