Could anyone help me out with how to add pictures to a thread. I am using the add attachment feature and when I select a saved picture it is added up side down. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks George

Its a weird issue having to do with how the photo is taken. There is a way to "fix" it. Here is a good thread on the same topic with a solution that I posted. o-gaugeforum.com/post/59805/thread

It's the orientation of your camera when you take the picture. Download the photo to your favorite computer (PC, laptop, etc.) and use a photo editor to set the proper orientation. Then upload the corrected photo to this forum.
In the future, make sure your digital camera is facing the right way. For an iPhone the correct orientation is with the camera on the back of the phone facing to the left and the "home" button facing to the right.

With an iPhone I have taken photos in proper orientation and the thumbnail is still showing incorrectly within forum threads. However, when you click on the photo to open it in full resolution, it shows normally. The other "fix" as you called out here, is to upload the photo to a PC before uploading to the forum. The problem only happens when I upload directly from the phone to the forum (which requires you view the forum page in desktop mode). I think there is something odd about the metadata on photos taken with an iPhone or iPad. I could be and have been wrong.

I figured it out. Involves a few steps. This is the process for iphone to PC 1. step 1 take photo with iphone, edit the photo by rotating it 4 times. 2. email the photo to yourself, not by using the "mail "icon. but by going to the more icon and selecting your email account in this case gmail. 3. download the photo on your PC and rotate again 4 times. 4. Then it should attach in proper orientation. Included some test pics.

Did a little science experiment taking photos with my iPhone in all 4 possible orientations. Let’s see what happens!
So what happened is that the only orientation whose thumbnail (when photo is uploaded unedited) appears correctly on the forum is when the iPhone is rotated 90 degrees the left. All others are not showing correctly. The one that surprises me is the photo with the phone held in the normal upright position. Interesting!
