Not necessarily New Year's resolutions, but do you have any upgrades planned for your layout in 2022? We typically start the New Year making a list of planned improvements. It has been a big list for the past three years, but this year not so much as we are at a point the we are very happy with what we have. However, There is a big one on this year's list. An unexpected improvement last year was the large suspension bridge that we installed in CIC at the far right end of the layout. It made a huge improvement. This year, we want to balance out the opposite end that has now two streets with about nine D56 Buildings. We plan to replace all of these building with high-rise structures. We already have the Daily Planet Building for starters. If our plan goes well, this should also be a spectacular addition to CIC. You will then look down the layout and see the blinking red lights on top of each structure and a sea of new lights emitting from the new tall structures. Nothing like making good better. Please share you improvement plans with us.

Much like last year, I’ve got no plans for major upgrades but I’m sure I will get myself into trouble and come up with something. The redo of the upper level was unplanned but I am really happy with how it turned out.

It will make a huge improvement for you, Laz. Ballast makes a big difference with all types to track, including tubular.

I will try and get a video of doing the laying of the ballast. It is going over fastrack and is pretty straight forward.

Ill be adding about four feet of scenery total on both sides I plan to add about 20 (new count) dept56 buildings, some I have and others will have to be acquired. Of course more figures and other stuff. A back drop on both sides of the tunnel.
Should keep me busy for the rest of the year unless I come up with something else.

David, you did a wonderful job on this year's new Christmas related layout and adding more display space will make it so much better. One thin you will find is keeping a permanent Christmas layout is a lot of fun. It becomes very normal to keep it up the more you work with it.
Good plan!!!!!!

I haven't been doing much layout wise for a while now besides putting a signal bridge over one section of track. I had done quite a bit taking down my old layout and starting a new one over the past year , still have plenty to do. Im waiting to see what is in the next Lionel catalog to see how much that will cost me before I start adding/doing layout work or buy more Brooklins. Just paid my Christmas bills and January property tax bill, so Ill be looking to spend what's leftover . Laz I'll interested in your ballast work and what kind you use.
