Absorb a little less sunshine (just a little), and get some steel wheels turning on some nickel-silver rails.

#3! #3! But seriously, I have to get building after nearly 12 months of non-layout activity. But I followed #3 a couple of times! Dave

Reduce the collection of unopened buildings and accessories that I know I will never use and are taking up way too much room. When there is too much stuff, you can't even sort through it all to even know what you have.
For Christmas layout, organize the buildings and figurines so they are grouped together by type. Start building layout earlier in the fall.

Aside from some carry-over goodies from 2021 that haven't been delivered yet, I have no plans to pre-order from 2022 catalogs. Period. I need to take a breather. Too much stuff on the roster already as it is... so I'll live vicariously through all the folks chasing the arrival of newly catalog'd goodies in 2022, which probably won't see actual delivery until late 2022 / early 2023 anyway.
For example... as excited as I was when I saw the N&W Class A mock-up by Lionel at York last October... the fact that it might have a feature that needs the new Legacy Version 3 base/app to be fully functional has me completely hands-off with it now. I've spent enough on 2021 stuff anyway. So in that sense, Lionel is really competing against itself by offering so much in any given catalog. And people are actually saying Lionel is planting seeds that this latest 2022 Volume 1 catalog will be the biggest catalog thus far? Unbelievable.

My resolution is changing trains on the layout + going to be making a new city area.

I'm not off to a good start with my resolution to buy less. Just pre-ordered the MTH B&M SW-9 and matching 4-bay hopper car after considering them for a few weeks. This checks both the B&M (favorite railroad) and Switcher (favorite type of diesel engine) boxes for me. Decided this will be my birthday present. Its a pre-order (and my first), so who knows when it will arrive, but I'm hoping sometime in March in time for my BDay. The last purchase for a long time, I promise. This and the forthcoming OGF engine along with what is already in the collection should keep me going for a long time. Boy, this hobby is nothing but trouble!! LOL.

Put the finishing touches on my 90% completed model railroad. That would be lighting, a few switch hook ups and some industrial fronts in one small area.

Do something on the layout with my Hornby clockwork engines. Keep an eye out for one of those tinplate Richart's Toonerville trolleys and station.

Health permitting, tear down current layout (5x10) and build a bigger one (6.6x12).

Now that's a good goal.

Adam, the B&M switcher is one of the best color schemes in the hobby. No wonder you went for it.

I agree Brian. Hard to resist. I afraid that MTH or Lionel would do the F7 in that classic color scheme. That would put a big hole in my pocket.
