This is not good. This will lead to a slippery slope! I was told even the MTH Illinois car was getting hard to find so I picked this puppy up for 160 dollars. But then I saw what the 3 car set was going for and wow!

Now I have only one car to run behind the 400E... the hunt continues.

That warning is a little to late in coming for John. Be careful Bruce, you may be the next one to get converted.

I'm trying to keep it to a very few sets... but then Mark just found the last 2 cars for his Blue Comet set and I am feeling weak in the knees...

I tried the keeping it to a very few sets. So far, I have been able to hold to that statement. I only get a couple of new sets per year.
In regards to the Blue Comet, I am very happy to have completed the set however, I will have to say, some people would be very disappointed in it. This set was done under the license MTH had over Lionel products. The BC was put out under both badges, MTH and Lionel by MTH. I can only speak for the Lionel by MTH which was done 3 times over the span of the licensing. There was a 3 car set with the add on Halley car. Then there was a 4 car set that included the Halley car. Then there were the 2 additional cars, baggage car Olbers and another coach Barnard. I believe the Box car was an uncatalogued car. I would have to look that up to verify it. I have the 3 car set with the add on Halley. The Halley car is close but not an exact match in paint. The dark blue, across the board, is very close however the light blue is a couple of shades darker. The Olbers and the Barnard cars light blue is another shade or 2 darker than the Halley car. The box car used the same colors as the Halley car. I do not mind the shade differences and hope to get a video out of it in action on the layout. MTH did a much better job of the color matching in the State car sets.
