A great anecdote about Al and his wife. They were the winners of the last drive and chose the 1939 Zephyr. As Al helped his wife out to the line of cars, the Zephyr was waiting for him. Young Andrew (25 yrs old) of the NB Center looked at Mrs. Slack leaning on her walker as she said to Al, "I'll wait here." Now, up until this moment, someone from TNBC went on the drive with each of the previous three winners. But, this time, Andrew, sensing a tender moment, moved out of the way and invited her to go along with Al on his drive while Andrew watched her walker. With a little effort, she got into the car and before driving off, they looked at each other and smiled like there was no tomorrow! Al smoothly engaged the clutch and off they went together, just like it was their first date. Andrew looked at me and said, "This is what it's all about, isn't it, having fun and making memories. I'll let them stay out a little longer."

We are in WI right now, moving to FL next summer, but I will drive to wherever the next event is. I am blessed with a super fun to drive car (VW MK7 GTI), so even if it is at the NB Center, I am in!

I love the GTI. I drive a Ford Fiesta ST and it is an absolute riot, particuarly in the twisties.
