Much to his credit, Scott Mann issues product updates when certain runs of cars or engines have reached production stage. The latest is about the aluminum (or in one case brass) SP Daylight cars, including an SP 3/4 length dome car, a couple of articulated sets and other cars originally issued some years back.
This is the absolute height of O scale passenger car production today, and the only aluminum cars being made AFAIK. It’s been about a two year wait to get to this stage but clearly worth it.
This is the video Scott has released and narrates; enjoy if you are a passenger car/GGD/3rd Rail fanatic:

I like the magnet on the diaphragms. Good idea...

I like the magnet on the diaphragms. Good idea... Yes, although in the video it takes a while to get them aligned. That's probably a result of using the original tooling, which I think did not provide for such diaphragms. But I am not complaining - I just wish, as I am sure Scott does, that they'd get here . . .

Quoting myself here 'cause I understand that the Daylight cars are finally in port here in the USA. Now we have to endure the delay of the container actually getting to 3rd Rail, which these days is no quick process, especially on the Left Coast, and then they have to be sorted and despatched to customers. Am hoping to see mine in the course of next month but won't hold my breath meanwhile.

I’ll post something more detailed on the main board in due course, that is after I see the Daylight car I have coming in this series, but meanwhile I thought I’d flag up a very full thread on the 3/4 domes written by a true scale passenger car expert: ogrforum.ogaugerr.com/topic/ggd-sp-daylight-cars-stateside-and-shipping?reply=159237711971867338#159237711971867338
Look for the long post towards the end by Erik C. Lindgren. His view is that these are the finest dome cars ever produced, even by full O scale brass importers, “by a country mile.” Quite a coup for Scott Mann to attain this level of praise.
