The legendary ‘Embiricos Bentley’ commissioned in 1937 by the Greek shipping magnate and playboy racing driver André Embiricos. This bespoke coupé was specifically designed for dashing across Europe at high speeds. Frenchman Georges Paulin – a trained dentist and a superbly talented designer of aerodynamic cars – designed the striking body which was subsequently brought to life by local coachbuilder Pourtout. With a few modifications, in 1939 this sporting Bentley appeared at Le Mans and would go on to race there twice more after the war claiming a creditable sixth place in 1949.
This beautiful model made an appearance in my 2021 Halloween layout.
