I wanted to find some smaller scale (1:64) cars to fill in some tighter spots on the layout. I was thinking matchbox size, but I couldn't find anything that suited my tastes. It seems like they all have some sort of strange theme or just aren't models of attractive cars these days. Today we went to Northeast Comicon 10 min from our house. My older daughter is a fan of comic art and is a pretty darn good artist herself. Whenever we go to one of these conventions I am on the lookout for toys that I can use on the layout. Well, I got very lucky, for $2 each, still in their original packaging, I found the following cars. While they are a far cry from Brooklin level of detail and quality, for the price they are the best I have seen. They all have rubber tires and decent details inside and out. These were made by a brand called Johnny Lightening about 20 years ago. Part of me thinks I should have bought more, but 5 for $10 and change was perfect for me. 1957 Lincoln Premiere 1962 Lincoln Continental Convertible 1958 Chevy Impala 1955 Chrysler C-300 1956 Chevy Bel Air

Nice price Those are actually newer Johnny Lightning models. You can find more on eBay but they'll be quite a bit more than $2! 😆

The packaging looked to be a few years old and I found one online that looked similar and was older. I know nothing about this brand. Either way, they look good on the layout.
