Nice stuff guys!
Joe, A while back, I picked up an MTH Tropicana Set that came with 6 cars and a locomotive. They are nice cars. I remember the Tropicana Terminal in Kearny, NJ. Everyday, a train of reefers would roll in there and unload. They had their own switcher too…
Ed, that is a sharp looking engine. It looks very detailed, especially with the special trim paint…
Zeke, is that a MTH caboose? They make really great cabooses. It is always a thing with me, to have a caboose to go with any engines I have. They are fun to collect..

Just found this from 1980 Kearny

Tom, Yes, it's a Railking. You sound like me - every time I get an engine one of the first things I do is hunt down a caboose for it. When I got the 0-8-0, I bought a nice Northeastern style caboose. Then I discovered MTH made this offset caboose and really wanted one. I found it at Pat's trains a couple of weeks ago. Honestly, I paid too much for it, but apparently they only made them in 2005 and I've never seen one at a train show. And it seems like just every caboose on ebay is going for big money. So, whatcha gonna do?

So, whatcha gonna do? It seems everything is a bit whacky price wise. Good cabooses definitely go for over $100 in most cases, at least the MTH and Lionel do. A cheaper alternative is the line of Weaver cabooses, but they don’t have window glazing. I recently bought a PC caboose off eBay. It is a Lionel NYC pattern and the previous owner butchered it, trying to open it up with out removing the screws underneath. I have been slowly working on it and replacing parts that were lost. Still, I paid $40 for it. I may end up weathering it to hide a few paint scratches and glue marks from the previous owner… Tom
