I had posted a few posts above where I purchased a new MTH Boston and Maine GP9. I now acquired a Lionel shell which I placed onto a dummy Willams base. The colors do not match and the size is different but it looks ok.
You could always paint it Don. Or send it to Happy Harry Hieke. The color on your original GEEP is Beautiful!!

I didn't have a Santa Fe steam locomotive for the freight side of the layout. So obtained an inexpensive (under $250) conventional Williams NIB 4-6-2 Pacific. So now there's a Santa Fe steamer to compliment the Santa Fe F7 Super Chief. The Williams steamer is an excellent runner and miracle puller even if only conventional.
I pulled the trigger on the NS First Responders set at $305 out the door and SHIPPED. Mario's Trains in Winchester, VA The caboose is going for $99 on the 'bay and the engine about $220 and $229 on various train retailers. so I get the track/transformer, all the cars and the LC NS engine for less than the cost of the engine and caboose.
Next step is to complete the consist that I "trained" on and eventually both run and display it. I was fortunate enough to be allowed in the cab and it is sparse and very business like. But still so cool!!
This is the actual NS CAERS train that we worked with and it was both informative and COOL!

Vern, really nice Pacific. Williams make great steam locomotives. Having it conventional is a plus too. No silly electronics to worry about. It simply runs!
Don, the reefers look great. It must be a sight to see them all rolling together!
