Hi All,
I may be going to First Frost on 11/13 and it would be my first time at this show. About how much time should I allow to see everything? I'm thinking just an hour or so? I'm not looking for any specific item, just some general rolling stock in a couple of different road names. Thanks!

It will be crowded so at least 2-3 hours. Don't forget its the first one in two years, should be great.

I've been going to the Allentown ATMA show since the 1970's. It's fabulous... and in some ways, a mini-York... with a good combination of dealers and regular you-and-me type folks holding down tables. In short, Allentown is a GREAT mix of new products, old products, railroad novelty items, and sometimes plain old rusty trains and track from the attic.
One hour is doable, but why rush? You might want to plan for at least 2 hours... just so you don't feel pressured to cram everything in. There's a lot to see. Be sure to introduce yourself and stop by Tables A-1, A-2 and A-3 where I'm planning to have my U-shaped booth. It's not my usual location, but I reserved tables later in the game than usual... and these tables are over by the "old entrance", which is now the test-track.
If you go on Saturday, don't forget to check out the Farmer's Market underneath the grandstands for excellent food stuff too. That's another reason why just one hour would be rushing things.
P.S. I will posting an Allentown ATMA Virtual Bandit Meet thread in the OGF Buy/Sell forum with lots of goodies that will be available for delivery at the Allentown show to save on shipping costs. Don't miss it!!!

The Allentown First Frost and Spring Thaw Train Meets are regular train events for us. It's held in the Agricultural Hall at the Allentown Fair Grounds complex. You have two large rooms full of trains and things. The floor space is pretty large at 50,000 sq ft and there is parking for over 3000 cars. I usually do a fast check out of all the dealer tables and even being quick you can expect to spend about two hours there. Being that its only an hour drive for me, this would have to be my favorite show. Paula my wife always goes with me as she loves the Farmers Market that is only about 60' from the Agricultural Hall entrance. There are over 50 merchants there, mostly food but some really good stuff thrown in.
If I don't find any trains that I wish to buy we still go home with a full trunk of meats veggies and Amish food. These best thing is that meet will be held without any Covid Restrictions or mask mandates.

Thank you gentlemen! Sounds like I misjudged the size, so I'll plan on a couple of hours if I wind up going. Rocky - I'll try to swing by and say hello.
Thanks again!

Why not make a whole day of trains!!??
When I would go, I'd arrive for the 8am opening and walk around and buy stuff and chat with people for three or four hours. Then I'd go over to the Farmers Market in the parking lot and have lunch. After lunch I would spend the rest of the day touring layouts in the area on the schedule of the The Annual Model Railroad Open House in the PA., NJ, MD & De. areas. I would visit homes on the schedule all afternoon and into the evening that were open. They are mostly HO layouts but a few O gauge sprinkled in. You can get lots of ideas no matter the scale and you can talk with the owners to learn their techniques. It's a magnificent train day!! Click the link and click the schedule and see who's opening up their home to see their trains. The schedule is a little lighter this year after Covid.
I highly recommend seeing BILL KACHEL's HO layout open on the 13th!

I will not be able to attend this one, but I've been to at least a dozen. Usually you would need 2 hours, but what the Covid impact will be, ?
